OOTD & Scarf DIY

Hey everyone, life has been very busy with school back in session. This year will be quite busy with school, homework, and book writing. I am excited though, I know God has great things in store for this year. I was putting up my awards from last year on my wall and I didn't realize what a great year last year was. I got 5 different awards: Leadership Honors Award, 2 Emerging Leader Awards, President's Honor Roll Award, and my Christian Athlete of the Year Award. God blessed me with such a great year last year, I want this year to be even better! I hope that God pours favor on all of ya'll this year too and that your year is just amazing. Anyways, this is my OOTD and what I love about it is, that it's so darn comfortable and yet stylish. I wore a flowy floral print shirt with a vintage skinny belt to cinch it in at the waist, black leggings and my ankle boots. I wore the two bracelets that hubby's mom made me in the Philippines. My necklace was my birthday gift from hubby and the watch was also gifted.

You will need an old T-Shirt. I used this creepy Mardi Gras one.
Cut the very bottom off. Right above the stitching.
Then cut off a piece of about 12-15" off.
Now cut slits on one side the length of your scissors.
Now carefully stretch them out by pulling them straight. Don't pull them from side to side or it will rip them off. Pull straight until they roll and are long and loose.
Once they are all stretched, open the scarf and stretch it out also. You will make it longer and thinner.
You can wear it long like this
or double wrap it like this! Either way, it's cute, it's easy, and you are upcycling an old shirt:)

It's the Rain's Fault...

So here I am taking pictures in my living room because it will not stop raining... I know, bad lighting, bad posing, and bad place to take pictures. Well, sorry guys. We were actually rushing out of the house late for a meeting and yet I still delayed us by like five more minutes just to take these darn pictures that weren't that great. Oh well. I took them, might as well share them. Hope you like the outfit. I made the dress, one of my own designs. the turquoise belt is thrifted and I can't remember where I got the boots. Not cool right? Sorry. Yet again. Oh, and I did something different to my hair... I braided it:)

I ended up covering the hair tie by wrapping my own hair around it. Which made it look even cuter:)

p.s. tomorrow's diy is a T-shirt scarf & a T-Shirt Necklace:)

Casual Sunday

How come weekends seem to fly by? I wish they would just go so slow! I love relaxing on Saturday with my boys and being oh-so-lazy. I even enjoy sitting there watching football with my hubby and son, even though I really could care less about football when there's a great book to read instead, or a great fashion site to check up on. Our Saturday was pretty amazing. Then on Sunday we did our usual routine, church, lunch, thrift haul, relax, life group, done. :) I love Sundays, spending it immersed in God's presence and then meeting with friends who love the Lord and build us up in His Word.
Anyways, this is what I wore to church and then the next outfit was what I wore after, much more casual and definitely comfier. By the way, I love this vintage dress, but I am officially saying good-bye to this beauty and putting it up for sale. I want another vintage lover to experience the beauty of this vintage piece:) So if you want it, email me at reynalay@gmail.com

I decided to slick my hair back in a black sequined headband for a very casual look:)
Excuse the color of these pics, it was dark outside by the time we got home and we have yellow lighting inside, not so great for picture taking...

POP of Color + GIVEAWAY!!!

Sometimes I want to wear very neutral colors but instead of going all neutral and looking so boring I add a pop of color. Yesterday was a pretty casual day and in the evening we went to church for prayer service and usually everyone wears jeans, so I did also. I paired my flared vanity jeans with my POP of color green ruffled sleeveless shirt from Target, my .25 cent Suit Jacket (yet another fabulous thrift find!), my other 25 cent find: my orange purse, and lastly my comfiest pair of black heels. The necklace is vintage also:) Hope you love my outfit! btw: Giveaway currently going on at my FB Page, ends in the morning, but when we reach 140 likes we'll do another! Go check it out:) Share & get another giveaway started!!
that red line on my hand is a lipstick swatch for my OOTD video:) Forgot to take it off!

Black & Bold OOTD

Bought this gorgeous vintage jacket and purse at the Thrift store, and you won't even guess how much! Not $30.00, not $20, not even $5!! Only .25 cents EACH!! Yes, .25 cents! I am SO in love with it! This purse has such a great color and the quality is great, plus it has lots of zippered pouches, even in the bottom. Will add it on one of my videos so ya'll can see:)
Hope ya'll love it. I wore all black because I had to go to a business meeting for church and I thought the jacket was enough color...

What do ya'll think? It has a hidden zipper at the bottom!
"Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can't love and respect yourself-no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are, completely; the good and the bad, and make changes as you see fit-not because someone else wants you to be different."
‎"Sometimes, people are unable to persevere because they have limited expectations for themselves or accept the constraints placed on them by others. I've learned firsthand that anyone can surpass these perceived boundaries and amaze themselves, if they're prepared to project, prepare and persevere. - Susan Ershler in FitnessRx for Women Magazine
